For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. (Psalm 139:13-14)
Our Promise to You:
The Elders and Volunteers at Fellowship Church Lubbock are dedicated to serving you and your children with excellence. We treasure the opportunity to care for your children and we’re thankful that you have entrusted us with the privilege of being a part of their spiritual formation! We hold your child’s spiritual development in the highest regard and are dedicated to insuring that even infants and toddlers will be nurtured with God’s Word. To that end, we promise to provide a safe, clean, enjoyable and nurturing atmosphere as we serve your children.
Staff and Volunteers:
To provide the best care and ensure your child’s all-around safety, each FCL volunteer must:
(a) be interviewed and APPROVED by the FCL elders,
(b) pass an annual independent BACKGROUND CHECK, which is kept on file, and
(c) COMMIT to follow FCL policy and to attend periodic volunteer meetings which are designed to maintain the high standards of our children’s program and to ensure the ongoing security, well-being, and spiritual welfare of every child.
Safety and Security: Check-in & Check Out
We are committed to caring for your family’s safety and physical needs. Babies and toddlers may only be checked-in by their parent or legal guardian. Our strict check-in procedure includes gathering your child’s vital information, including particular requirements and any allergies. Upon check-in, each baby or toddler will receive a name tag and parents will receive a Check-in Tag for each child left in our care.
We maintain a safe children-to-teacher ratio with multiple volunteers in a clean and tidy teaching area with first-aid and sanitizers at hand. We do not employ punitive discipline at any time. Children who are distraught or unmanageable, as well as toilet-trained children who need to use the restroom, will be escorted to a parent. All diapers will changed by adult female volunteers only. Finally, we have established an emergency safety plan and keep a hall monitor and emergency volunteers standing by during every service. No one will be allowed to enter the Nursery area without proper credentials.
At check-out time (after the service), children will be released only to the adult person who holds the Check-in Tag and who was responsible for check-in. A report will be provided detailing how we were able to serve your child (bottles, snacks, naps, diapers, etc.) during the service.
Solid Biblical Teaching:
At FCL, even babies and toddlers receive Bible-based teaching that has been elder-approved. Our objective is to preserve the integrity of the Word of God and never to simplify the truth out of Scripture! Babies will hear loving caregivers pray for them and read the Scriptures to them, and toddler lessons are designed to teach “the whole counsel of God” in order to help your child learn, remember and rely on Scripture – not just at church, but in their daily lives at home and school as well.
We will proclaim God to be the Creator of all things and the Provider of every need. We will proclaim Jesus as our only hope and source of righteousness and salvation. We are intent on laying a doctrinal framework that sets your babies and toddlers on a course toward becoming vibrant disciples of Jesus. To that end, we strive to provide lessons that are mindful of each child’s age, needs, capabilities and vocabulary so they may be “equipped for every good work.” (Acts 20:27; II Timothy 3:16-17)
If you ever have concerns, questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to talk to one of our Directors of Babies, Toddlers and Children’s Ministry or contact an elder. We want to serve you!
