SERVICE STYLE & DRESS:
Our worship will always center around God’s Word and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We have one Sunday service.
Dress is casual and the atmosphere is inviting. Come as you are!
What we sing will reflect God’s Word and the Gospel:Congregational singing is accompanied by a full band playing an assortment of ageless hymns and contemporary compositions. Regardless of style, it is vitally important to us that the lyrics clearly relate Scriptural truths and doctrines, and magnify the finished work of Jesus. Overhead projectors will provide the lyrics. (Colossians 3:16; Ephesians 5:19-20)
We will read God’s Word aloud and proclaim the Gospel: A portion of Scripture will be read aloud during each Sunday before the sermon. “What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ… so that our joy may be made complete.” (I John 1:3-4; I Timothy 4:13)
We will teach and preach God’s Word and focus on the Gospel: The sermon will most often be exegetical and verse-by-verse, providing an in-depth, edifying study of God’s Word. Occasionally, you may hear a guest speaker, topical sermon or short series (for instance, two or three weeks on a subject like “The Nature of God”, or “Qualifications of an Elder”).
We will obey God’s Word, and respond to the Gospel: Communion is served often, membership classes are held regularly, and baptisms (as needed) are incorporated into the service. If you’d like information on baptism or church membership, simply contact one of the church elders: Eric Barbee; Michael Oden; Jon Sharp
We will refer you to God’s Word and help you to share the Gospel: We exhort you to live out what you sing, read and hear from God’s Word when you drive away from FCL to enter each new week! If you meet with FCL elders for counseling, training or classes, don’t be surprised when they direct you to Scripture. (II Timothy 3:16)
When you attend, please pick up a Visitor Information Card (VIC) near the offering box.
Fill it out and hand it to an Elder. We promise he won’t harass you. He just wants to meet you to welcome you to FCL!
If you prefer to make a quick get-away, just drop the VIC into the offering box and run!
As you run past the table in the foyer, grab the free book we offer as a gift to visitors.
